Sadly we have just had the last raku workshop of this year, as it gets dark earlier and not nice to be outside all day when it is cold. We managed to fired lots and lots of pots and Michele bought some of her cat and fish sculptures which fired really well. We were quite lucky with the weather with just a couple of rain showers that caught as all on the hop. But thank you so much Liz and Lesley for bringing the fantastic soups that warmed everyone up at lunch time.
Again we got some really good obvara results and the photo of the three pots shows the difference you get with the time that you take to get from kiln to obvara mixture. The palest one cooled down the most and the darkest one went straight in. I think the middle one that cooled for a couple of seconds had the best colour result. The flat dishes also worked well and stood the thermal shock.
